Söderbergska Prize to Impact member

The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences has awarded the Impact member – professor Maarit Jänterä-Jareborg the 2013 Söderbergska Prize in Jurisprudence for her scientific contributions within international family law.

Maarit Jänterä-Jareborg leads the research on families, law and society within the Impact Programme Theme 3 , focusing there on issues such as religious diversity within family law, Europeanisation of family law, cross-border family cases and human rights, as well as cooperation within religious and state institutions. 

The Söderberg Prize is awarded as a tribute for her pioneer contributions within international family law in the Nordic countries and for her active scientific participation in European family law developments. 

The prize which consists of 1 million Swedish crowns will be presented in a special ceremony, including a seminar on family law developments in Europe, on 30 May 2013 at the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences. 

The award is granted every fourth year and Maarit Jänterä-Jareborg is the first woman to receive this prize.
