Religion, Secularism and Democracy
This work package aims to advance both theoretical and empirical understandings of the relationship between religion, secularism and democracy by introducing a comparative dimension. It sets the accumulated findings of work packages 2.1–2.5 in relation to similar research in other European countries, focussing in particular on the UK, France, Poland and Turkey. This study is of immediate relevance to the construction of Europe and its future constitution.
