Cemetary Architecture: Meaning.making, Intentions and Experiences
A new subproject (2013-2015), CAMINE: Cemetary Architecture: Meaning-making, Intentions and Experiences, aims to discern place making strategies, meaning making functions and normative notions in relation to contemporary Swedish cemeteries. The project has been initiated on basis of a cross-disciplinary collaboration with researchers at Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences and the Faculty of Engineering at Lund University.
An important aspect of this research project is that it will gain new knowledge about cemetery practices from different perspectives. This knowledge will both benefit the research in Death Studies in general, and provide cemetery authorities, designers and planners with useful information.
